A young man in Solna is seriously injured after he was hit in the face by a firework piece on New Year’s Eve, the police announce.
The man received care from an ambulance and an emergency physician and was taken to hospital in an ambulance.
– They probably aimed at each other with firework pieces, says Ola Österling of the police to TT.
A criminal investigation into causing bodily harm has been launched.
Attempted murder
A man in his 70s is said to have been attacked by a relative in Kungsbacka during New Year’s Eve.

Damaged by fireworks
In Hörby, a man in his 30s was injured on New Year’s Eve after, according to the police, “laboring with fireworks in his kitchen”. A piece went off and started a small fire in the kitchen.
Emergency services, police and medical personnel were called to the scene.
The man was taken to hospital in an ambulance with serious injuries to his fingers and hands.
Fire
The emergency services rushed to a fire near Bröttorp on Öland around midnight.
– It’s a barn that’s on fire and it’s a powerful fire. We have a lot of resources at the scene, says Anders Palmgren at the rescue service to the Barometern.
There are no reports of any injuries and there should not have been any animals in the barn.
Attempted murder
A man in his 40s has been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder in Stockholm. According to the police, the man, who is in his 40s, allegedly stabbed another man at a hotel in Farsta.

– The plaintiff is considerably older and has been stabbed several times. He has been taken to hospital with serious injuries, says police spokesperson Ola Österling to TT.
Fire
In Klippan, there was a fire during the evening at a shop located next to a residential building, according to the police.
– A fire has started in the entrance to a shop and above there is an apartment building. There is a fire in the construction. There is some smoke spreading in the stairwell, but we have it under control, says David Palm, media officer at the rescue service to HD.
The fire is believed to have started due to fireworks. There are no reports of personal injuries.
Explosion alarm
The police were called during the evening to the Viretofta area in Malmö after reports of an explosion.
A window is said to have been damaged and there is also damage to a facade at a residential building.
– We will write a report about gross public damage and violation of the law on flammable and explosive goods. Then we’ll see what happened, says Leif Fransson, the police’s spokesperson in the South region.
Police killed moose
At 9:30 p.m., the police were alerted that a car had collided with a moose on national highway 52 on the outskirts of Nyköping. A police patrol was nearby and one of the officers killed the injured moose with his service weapon.
– It was a hunter ordered. But they have probably made the assessment that the moose has suffered so much that they didn’t want to wait for the hunter. They have obviously managed to do it themselves in a good way, says Linus Maxe at the police.
The people who were in the car are said to have managed without major injuries.
