We hadn’t seen Pia and Stefan for several weeks. Now was the time. A fitting route was to meet between their home and ours – Strängnäs.

When we arrived at the pitch down in the harbour, full and satisfied from one of E20’s fast food bars, Pia and Stefan were already there. We backed in between them and another RV, fed the dogs dinner, and then went into the big, fine Carthagon for laughter and shouting well into the wee hours.

Even though the pitch had the first park for the “motorized youth playhouse” throughout the evening, we slept well. When we had perked up in the morning, we took a long walk among the old houses, the mill and the cathedral. Strängnäs is a cozy little town, but like most Swedish small towns – it does better in summer. When we had had enough of funeral regalia (in 2019 they were stolen, here is some exciting information about that) and faded red facades, we moved on.

We only drove a few kilometers. Right next to the E20, we turned into a large parking lot outside a giant hangar-like building. Arsenal! Now was the time for gluttony in war machines. Me and Pia only made it inside the door before we realized that entering for us could have generated two bottles of bubbly. 🤣 We still got through the visit to the big museum (Majk and Stefan thought it was interesting) and about an hour later we were on our way again.

Now it was time for fricamping. Next to Lake Mälaren, almost in the middle between Strängnäs and Enköping, we found a bathing park in winter rest. We immediately took out our fire baskets and started two warming fires. We then sat next to them all evening. We ate, we drank and we laughed. When we drove home the next day, we only left behind a thawed surface where the fire baskets had been and a red wine stain that resembled the emergency slaughter of a pig.

Thanks for another lovely weekend, Pia & Stefan! ❤️

If you want to see moving pictures, there is a film from the weekend on our YouTube channel. Welcome!
