I’ve written it before. One of the advantages of a camping vehicle is the great flexibility. Changing your mind at the absolute last second is never a problem.

That’s what happened this Friday afternoon. Our plan was to meet Micke & Patric in Hälleforsnäs but when they tried to leave Värmland their car gave up. There was something wrong that was broken. Well, if they couldn’t come to our quarters then we had to come to theirs. Just before nine o’clock we rolled into their lot and were greeted by a set table and lit candles. The evening then continued with talk and laughter. When I snidely declared “it’s almost three o’clock” we only had to step outside the front door to our warm bed in the car. The “Servicehuset” had really delivered on the first evening. 👍🏻

On Saturday, we were invited to breakfast before we stowed away in one of the hosts’ cars. Now we were going on an excursion. A bit of sightseeing in the local area and then a surprise was promised to Majk as a birthday present. Arvika vehicle museum! Mike was happy. I, who the week before had tormented myself through a military vehicle museum, perhaps did not feel the same joy. As a plus, at least this museum was heated. 👍🏻

When Majk had photographed all the vehicles from different angles, we moved on. All the way down to the square. We were hungry for coffee…but when we looked at the clock, we realized that we probably needed to eat something light to keep going. We ordered and shared two pizzas at Nordell’s pastry shop. Good! Before we left Arvika, we had time to visit Klässbol’s linen weaving mill. Tablecloths and cushions in all shapes and colors. The most interesting thing was being able to go and look among both modern and antique looms. What a job! Unfortunately, they didn’t sell Nobel tablecloths that fit the camper’s small table, I had to leave the store empty-handed.

Micke and Patric were down in the Alps over Christmas and New Year with the motorhome and had stopped at many exciting places along the way. Including a beer brewery. When we were back in Micke and Patric’s cozy house, they therefore of course prepared a German beer tasting. I’m not a big beer lover, but I’m never afraid to join a tasting. A splash in the glass and then a full discussion about aromas and flavors. So lovely to hang out with friends who are equally amused (because gosh, we’ve tried beer for the past six months…and it’s not over yet). 😄 When the German beer tasting was finished, the Tüüü schnitzel took over. Patric pounded out the meat into elephant ears and then we were treated to schnitzel and raw fried potatoes. Yum! Before we said thank you, we also had time for a few rounds of board games.
It must be said that this service house really delivered. 👍🏻

Before we returned to Eskilstuna, we were invited to breakfast again. We promised to invite again with a weekend at our house. We’ll see if we can maintain the same high standard of service.

Thanks for a nice weekend, Micke & Patric! See you again soon! ❤️
