The power supply in Stockholm has been strained for a long time. Already in 2018, the electricity grid company Ellevio warned that the capital was facing an acute power shortage.

In order to avoid an electricity crisis, the state-owned Swedish power network, which is responsible for the main grid in Sweden, has decided on the giant investments totaling over 20 billion kroner.
