2026 is expected to be a good year for Swedish trade. The reduced food VAT gives a large volume growth in the grocery stores, while the stronger household economy is expected to give a proper recovery for the consumer goods trade such as construction trade, home electronics and furniture.
– During the third quarter, the retail trade experienced the strongest growth it has seen since 2021. So there is a pretty good reason to be optimistic about the future, says William Lindquist.
