A bus and several cars are involved in a traffic accident on Klarastrandsleden in central Stockholm. The accident happened just before 4pm on Friday and immediately brought traffic to a standstill in both directions.
– No car comes by, says Elias Koivisto at the rescue service at 4:30 p.m.
According to SOS Alarm, there are between three and four cars involved in the accident.
– Two people have been taken to hospital. The emergency services said at 4:30 p.m. that the road should be cleared by 5 p.m., then the salvage work must be carried out, says Ola Nilsson at SOS Alarm.
The bus was empty of passengers at the time of the accident.
– It’s chaos, my God. Now they have let the northbound traffic go, but there is a bus that has driven off to the side and there have been lots of blue lights, says a resident nearby.
The bus driver has been taken to hospital by ambulance, and four more people have had to seek medical care for a check-up. Several ambulances are still at the scene.
The police have started a preliminary investigation into gross negligence in traffic and the bus will be impounded for a technical examination.
