The Attorney General: No rise in the Knutby case

Aftonbladet has reviewed the Knutby case and points to several circumstances that suggest that the nanny, Sara Svensson, may not have fired the fatal shots at the pastor’s wife, Alexandra Fossmo.

However, the Attorney General sees no reason to request a stay at the Supreme Court, writes SVT Nyheter.

– Currently, there is no reason for the Attorney General to take any measures, says Chief Prosecutor Mats Svensson to SVT.

Mats Svensson believes that several information presented in the review as new are not. Chamber prosecutor Elin Blank, who led the investigation in 2004, also said that earlier this week.

Mats Svensson goes on to say to SVT Nyheter:

– They present it as if it is big news that there were five bullet holes in the sheet. It is not new evidence at all, but information that was already in the ordinary process and it is carefully investigated why. There were five holes and three bullets, two bullets have caused two holes due to the sheet being folded. Of course, that makes the chances of getting a refund less if everything has already been brought up in court.

Sara Svensson can herself request a stay at the Supreme Court. In order for such a request to be approved, however, it is required that new evidence be presented.
