The man who yesterday ended up under a work vehicle on a golf course in Österåker was confirmed dead on Wednesday.
The man worked on renovations at the exclusive Österåker Golf Club, which was partly designed by Swedish golf star Henrik Stenson.
The workplace accident occurred yesterday at Österåker’s GK. The man is said to have ended up under a construction machine and his life could not be saved.
The exclusive golf facility has two courses – Öster by Stenson, which was designed by golf star Henrik Stenson, and the course Västerled. The club is currently carrying out an extensive reconstruction of the track Västerled.
The police carried out a technical investigation of the scene yesterday.
– I cannot go into exactly how it happened, Daniel Wikdahl told the police at the time.
“Serious workplace accident”
Prosecutor Jennie Nordin does not want to comment on the matter other than that the death is being investigated as a workplace accident. Relatives have been notified.
The golf club writes in a comment on its website:
“On Tuesday, November 25, early in the morning, a serious workplace accident occurred within the project we are conducting at the golf club.“
They further write that the club’s main focus now is to be there as support for victims and employees.
“We take what happened very seriously – of course we must have a safe and secure work environment. We want to get clarity on exactly what happened and support the police in the investigation that is being carried out into the incident.”
