GABLE. First a heavy loss against Brynäs – then an almost nine-hour long bus journey home to Ängelholm.

But the journey home became even sadder after the players’ bus was vandalized the night before the game.

– They have too little to do in town now that they haven’t set up the game yet, says coach Dan Tangnes.

Rögle has dropped points in three straight games. First it was Växjö who decided when there were only two tenths left. Then Skellefteå in the final minute – and now Brynäs, who equalized with four minutes left and decided in extra time.

– It is sour. That’s where we are right now. We do a lot of good things, but it kind of doesn’t bounce our way, says Tangnes.

As extra salt in the wounds, an almost nine-hour long bus journey south awaited. Rögle left the Monitor ERP Arena at 9 p.m. – and did so with a vandalized bus.

The team arrived in Gävle on Friday and spent the night in a hotel in the center of town.
But during the night someone had arrived and vandalized the bus.

Among other things, the windshield was cracked – and one of the windshield wipers was torn off.

– Yes, they have smashed the bus. I hope it is roadworthy so that we can get home safely and well, says Tangnes.

The plan was to repair what broke while the team played the game, but the windshield could not be fixed.

Hope to get two players back on Thursday

Rögle was forced to drive all the way home with a cracked window. A memory from Gävle:

– They have too little to do now that they haven’t set up the goat yet, says Tangnes and smiles a little.

And as if the loss and the bus vandalism weren’t enough, Rögle is also dragged along with a long injury list of heavy names – a list that got even longer when Dennis Everberg was forced to step off already in the first period.

– But that I stand here and guess about his status… it doesn’t get any better or wiser. He gets to see a doctor and see the extent of the damage, says Tangnes.

Can anyone be back by Thursday?

– Yes, the idea was that (Calvin) de Haan would play today. (Leon) Bristedt got a little hit last time. We must hope that he can also be ready to play again on Thursday. It’s not completely black.
