Days 1-5
Settling into the South Coast
Our journey begins in Reykjavík, staying at The Reykjavík EDITION. After settling in, you’ll head out on a Private Food & Wine Walk, exploring Icelandic cuisine and the culture that shapes it.
The following days, we travel the south coastwhere winter brings a quieter, more atmospheric landscape. We divide our stay between Hótel Umi, and Hótel Jökulsárlón which sit surrounded by sweeping glacier plains. These hotels are the perfect base for exploring the unique south coast locations.
We’ll visit waterfalls, black sand beaches, sea cliffs duck farmsteads that take on a more in-depth contrast in the winter light. One day is dedicated to the southern highlandswhere wide open valleys and snow-covered hills create a profound sense of stillness. A guided ice cave experience allows us to step inside the glacier itself. For those seeking a heightened perspective, a helicopter-access ice cave is available as an upgrade.
Evenings are for slowing down, and when conditions allow, we’ll venture out after dark to seek the northern lights. Watching the sky shift from pale green light above the glacier capped mountains.
Days 6-8
Arctic Wellness, Winter Activities & Northern Lights
From Reykjavík, you’ll fly north into a landscape transformed by winter; deep valleys, snow-draped peaks, and the stillness of the Tröllaskagi Peninsula. Nestled within this wilderness, Deplar Farm combines Nordic luxury with raw, natural beauty.
Each day unfolds according to your pace, guided by expert hosts who tailor every experience to your interest. Adventure seekers can head into the mountains for heli-skiing from mountain tops to the sea, snowmobiling or cross-country skiing through untouched terrain. For something slower, try snowshoeing across the pristine valleys or fat biking through snow-dusted trails. As evening falls, gather by an outdoor fire with a warm drink in hand, watching the northern lights above.
During December, Deplar Farm comes alive with Icelandic festive traditions. Cozy celebrations and candlelit dinners capture the spirit of the seasons. Between adventures, find stillness in the geothermal pools, indulge in the spa’s rituals designed to soothe both body and mind.
Deplar farm embodies the essence of Nordic winter; wild yet welcoming, where each moment invites you to experience Icelandic winter at its most magical.
