The bus rammed a bus shelter and ran over several people, three of whom died.
An investigation into aggravated manslaughter is underway and the bus driver has been arrested, but the cause is unknown.

Around 3.20 pm on Friday, an SL bus drives into a bus shelter on Valhallavägen in Stockholm. The blue double-decker runs over several people at the same time. The journey ends with the bus standing on the pavement. According to information to Expressen, a witness to the accident must have perceived it as the driver suffering from an illness.
According to SL, it was bus 676, which runs between Norrtälje and Stockholm. The bus was not in service at the time, and no passengers were on board. The bus is run by Transdev for SL.
The alarm about the accident comes at 3:23 p.m. A large contingent of police, ambulance and rescue services rushes out to the scene.
Pictures from the scene show bodies lying on the ground and firefighters lying on their stomachs looking under the bus.
Nurse Michelle Mac Key gets off a bus nearby shortly after the incident. A policeman takes her and two doctors to the dead people.
– One doctor looked at me and said: “I have never seen anything like this”. “Me neither,” I said. I thought it was a practice at first. That maybe they were dolls. It was so surreal. It was chaos.
Children became witnesses
The accident site is just a stone’s throw from Engelbrektsskolan.
– I know that children have become witnesses, says the school’s principal.
A video from the scene shows a plainclothes police officer with a gun drawn running up to the front door and banging on it. “Sit down on the floor,” she shouts to the bus driver.
Another clip shows how the bus driver is later led out of the bus by uniformed police officers. He gives the impression of being unsteady in his body, but is seen responding to calls from a police officer.
At 4:17 p.m., the police confirm that there are casualties. Later it is specified that it is three dead. In addition, three people were taken to hospital, two of them by ambulance. At the same time, the police announce that they have opened a preliminary investigation into aggravated manslaughter. Later, the police confirm that the bus driver has been arrested.
