On Saturday, as Expressen previously reported, furniture chain Jysk’s big staff party takes place in Stockholm. This means that all 158 stores around the country are closed on Sunday.

– We close the shops because we want as many people as possible to be able to go to the party the night before. Then they need time to get home and a little recovery before they receive the customers on Monday, said Johan Sjödin, CEO of Jysk Sweden, in a press release earlier this week.

According to Jysk, the party is a 30-year tradition and is part of the furniture chain’s investment in strengthening the community among employees. All employees are allowed to bring a partner, and Jysk is responsible for travel, accommodation and the entire arrangement.

– We believe in building strong teams by creating memories together. This is not just a party, it is part of being Jysk. Our employees are the heart of Jysk, and we want to show them that, said Sjödin.
