Ica store: Wear clothes when you shop!
Ica retailer Mattias Karlsson has had enough of half-naked holidaymakers.
Now he is appealing to customers to put on clothes.
– It is disrespectful, he says. Food prices are falling – the biggest drop in two years.
“In this store we have shoes and clothes on us” is what is written on a sign that greets customers at an Ica store in the summer resort of Köpingsvik on Öland, which P4 Kalmar was first to report.
– It may seem obvious, but it is not for holidaymakers. Far from it, says Ica retailer Mattias Karlsson, who describes that customers often come in shirtless, in bikinis and barefoot.
“Should be a given”
He’s fed up with sweaty, half-naked customers walking around picking at the store.
– I think it’s disrespectful to fellow human beings. I think you throw on a tank top, it should be a given.
Since he put up the sign, Mattias Karlsson feels that the problem with scantily clad customers has decreased a bit.
– It’s gotten a little better. There are some who have thought about it. My staff is wondering if we should tell people, but we haven’t gone that far yet, he says.
