It’s Sweden’s worst McDonald’s restaurant – the manager’s apology

It’s Sweden’s worst McDonald’s restaurant.

Guests say – among other things – that the restaurant is “very dirty”, has “terribly poor service” and that they will “never again” eat there.

“I’ve been there several times and I don’t think they’ve ever managed to get an order right,” writes one guest.

“The worst McDonald’s I’ve ever been to!” claims another guest.

A third person writes:

“First and last time I visited this McDonald’s”.

Yes, the McDonald’s restaurant in Töcksfors in Årjäng municipality has an average rating of 2.3 out of 5 stars based on 1,300 reviews on Google – the lowest rating in the country. Finspång was previously at the bottom, but its rating has risen to 2.7.

Töcksfors has thus parked in the jumbo space.

– It’s not fun to see the restaurant get low average ratings, especially for the restaurant’s employees who do their best every day to give the guests a good experience, Astrit Ala, CEO of Hjelte restaurang AB, which runs the restaurant, previously said in an interview with the local newspaper NWT.

After the newspaper noticed the poor ratings, more guests started sharing their own reviews. And not to the restaurant’s advantage. Many of them were critical. But there was one review that stood out: a 5 out of 5 rating, without a single objection.

Positive, of course, but the sender?

Apologies

He states that he wrote the review based on private visits to the restaurant and wanted to show his support.

No affiliation with the company was mentioned in the top rating and the review has now been removed.

– Regardless of my intentions, I realize that I made a mistake and I regret this. It was entirely my own initiative without the company’s knowledge and I understand that it was inappropriate, Amir Khodabakhsh himself tells NWT.

NWT has previously reported that the restaurant in Töcksfors has received several complaints from the municipality’s food inspections. Among other things, Happy Meal cartons were stored next to the restaurant’s garbage.

The restaurant should take a closer look at the Google ratings and what can be improved.

– We take all feedback from our guests very seriously, and are constantly working to improve the experience at our restaurants, Astrit Ala tells NWT.
