Praoelev wanted to take home woman’s head in a bag

The 14-year-old thought the woman at his practice was pretty and kind – so he decided to cut off her head and take it home in a plastic bag.

Inside the warehouse, he attacked with a knife and an axe.

– I wanted a part of her with me, her head, because I feel, then I felt alone, he said in questioning.

He is one of several young boys suspected of extreme violent crimes recently.

One Monday this spring, the 14-year-old started his prao at a workplace outside Enköping. He was shown around the premises and given a locker. Inside the warehouse, he saw an axe hanging.

At lunchtime, a female employee in her 35s came in. He immediately developed feelings for her.

– So I just said: “[woman’s name], you’re kind of naturally beautiful” and she just said “thank you so much, you’re so sweet”, he said in police questioning.

The compliment triggered thoughts in him.

– I wanted to eat her heart and physically have her with me. Make her a part of me.

Watched execution videos

According to his own account, he started watching “gore videos,” graphic depictions of violence, when he was twelve. Among other things, he saw authentic executions in Russia and Iraq that he had found. Around the same time, he began to have thoughts of harming other people himself and eating their body parts, he says.

On Tuesday, he brought a kitchen knife from home to the crime scene and put it in his locker. He also brought a gray plastic bag that he could put the woman’s head in and take home as a trophy, he said in questioning.

At that time, he had not yet decided whether he would carry out the act. But in the afternoon, he heard her say that she would go home early. That became the trigger that made him take action.

– My body was full of energy, and I was a little angry that she was going to leave me, he said during questioning.

Attacked from behind – “Tried to cut her head off”

He persuaded her to come with him to the store’s warehouse. There he asked her to turn her back on him under the pretext that he would show her a Tiktok dance.

Quietly he took a knife out of his cupboard and went on the attack.

– I grabbed her mouth and tried to cut her head off.

But the woman resisted, bit his finger and managed to twist his arm so that he dropped the knife.

– She was strong. So I took the axe and wanted to take her head off, as quickly as I could. But I missed. And I thought, fuck hell!

Then the woman started screaming for help. Then he stopped the act, slipped out and ran home. There he sat on the bed and waited until the police arrived.

Life-threatening injuries

The boy’s mother and sister told police that he was completely unfazed when he returned home. The only unusual thing was that he had a bleeding wound on his finger, which he said he got when he fell on the way home.

The woman has largely confirmed the boy’s version of events during questioning, except that according to her, he was the one who was supposed to go home earlier that day.

The knife attack left her with multiple wounds to her neck, throat, face, chest and abdomen. Blood and air entered her lungs, causing life-threatening circulatory problems. According to the patient record, she was also hit in the back of the head by the axe.

Fascinated by the cannibal Jeffrey Dahmer

The prosecutor has filed a charge of attempted murder. The charge means that a court must decide whether a person under the age of 15 has committed an alleged act or not. No punishment is imposed.

The boy’s fascination with violent crime and cannibalism was evident on his computer. He had searched for, among other things, “Why do people become evil or monsters” and “When does a corpse start smelling.” He had also shown an interest in the American serial killer and cannibal Jeffrey Dahmer, whose life was recently depicted in a Netflix series.

After the incident, he was taken into care under the Youth Care Act, LVU. According to the social welfare board, he has long suffered from mental illness and lived isolated at home without a positive social network.

Several serious violent crimes with young perpetrators

The murder at Praoplatz is just one of several recent cases where very young boys have been suspected or found to have committed very serious violent crimes and where the driving force appears to have been violence for its own sake.

• Last week, a 15-year-old in Norrköping was convicted of stabbing a randomly selected man to death on March 30 of this year. “What a good day,” he said on the film he himself took as he completed the murder. The boy had been thinking about killing someone for a couple of months. He has no known contacts with violent groups but has an interest in violence, Nazism and anti-Semitism.

• In September last year, a then 14-year-old boy tried to stab an elderly man to death in Hässelby, Stockholm. He filmed the crime during an ongoing conversation on the Discord app. The 14-year-old was active in the violence-promoting international network 764, whose participants are encouraged to carry out unprovoked knife attacks. Solna District Court has determined, despite his denials, that he committed the act. After the act, he was taken into custody according to the LVU and placed in a locked institution.

• A 14-year-old boy stabbed a 55-year-old woman who was walking her dog in Borås in January this year. The attack caused air and blood to enter the woman’s lungs. The district court has ruled that he carried out the attack, but that it was not an attempted murder, reports Borås tidning. The boy has had contact with the violence-prone networks No Lives Matter and 764.
