Trygg-Hansa backs down – Anna, 46, can breathe a sigh of relief

After two months of shock, uncertainty and the risk of litigation in the millions, relief comes. Trygg-Hansa withdraws its recourse claim against Anna, 46, which was made for a mortgage taken out by someone else. “We can move on with our lives now,” she says.

In April of this year, the shocking news came: Anna, 46, and her family were required to provide a lien for a mortgage of 1.6 million kronor, which someone else had taken out.

A mortgage that was never paid off when the home’s first owner sold and moved in 2009, and which has been missed by both brokers and banks over the years. Several years later, Anna owned the condominium for a couple of years as a newlywed and sold it almost ten years ago.
