Audience fiasco for Sweden: “It’s boring”

15,148 were in attendance at Strawberry Arena.

Algeria’s supporters were clearly heard the most despite Sweden being at home.

– It’s actually boring, says Anton Salétros.

There was no crowd celebration when Sweden hosted Algeria on Tuesday evening. At least not from the blue-and-yellow perspective.

The away team’s supporters dominated the stands.

– You want the Swedish people to come and watch us now that we’ve won a bit and we’re playing pretty fun football, I must say. I don’t think anyone finds it boring when it’s 4-3. Now maybe the biggest players aren’t here, but we actually have world-class players and many young players that people should want to come and watch, says Anton Salétros and is asked what the Swedish Football Association should do to attract more spectators:

– If I had known that, I might have been CEO of the association.

”Be a little sad”

Just over 15,000 were in attendance and those who cheered the most were rooting for Algeria.

– It’s actually boring. When you play in Sweden, you want the majority to be Swedish fans when we play in Sweden. It’s actually boring. I’d rather see lots of yellow shirts around the pitch, says Salétros.

Hugo Larsson agrees:

– It was a bit sad. We ran into the warm-up and just heard boos. We looked at each other and just laughed. It is what it is. We will just try to play as well as possible so that people come here, hopefully it will start this fall.

Sweden won the match 4–3.
