The music industry can be transformed into a billion-dollar business

A major deal could resolve the AI controversy that has been going on in the music industry for several years. But many questions remain. In Sweden, too, music creators are negotiating with AI companies – and considering lawsuits.

These are the real giants of the music world – the world’s three largest record companies, Universal Music Group, Warner Music Group and Sony Music Entertainment. They are now negotiating with the AI companies Udio and Suno, according to Bloomberg. It concerns how the AI companies can get the right to use the record companies’ music to train their models. In exchange, the record companies will be paid both in cash and shares in Udio and Suno, according to the sources, who, however, emphasize that nothing is finalized yet.

If there is an agreement, it could reshape the terms of the music industry – and be a solution to a billion-dollar dispute between the parties.
