26-Year-Old Confesses to Rönninge Murder Participation

The 26-year-old who is suspected of the murder in Rönninge has admitted complicity in the crime, according to information given to Aftonbladet.

The man has now been requested to be detained on probable cause on suspicion of murder and grave breach of privacy.

“The insecurity will remain”

The 26-year-old man is suspected of having kidnapped and murdered the 25-year-old woman in Rönninge on the night of Boxing Day. When he was arrested by the police on Saturday, he was in the process of handling body parts from the woman, according to Expressen’s information.

– In connection with our arresting the main suspect, it also became clear to us that the woman was deceased, the police’s commanding officer Max Åkerwall has previously said.

The suspected murderer must have driven to a wooded area several miles from Rönninge and upon arrest he immediately admitted that it was about the missing woman’s body parts, according to information to Aftonbladet.

Witness heard screams

The 25-year-old woman had been out with her friends on Christmas Eve, according to information to Expressen. She was last seen at Rönninge station and the last signal from her phone was connected at 01.50.

Relatives started looking for the woman and alerted the police in the morning the next day. At 2 p.m., they announced that they had found what they believed to be her headphones as well as cable ties and a small sledgehammer.

The police have stated that, after securing several leads, they were able to locate the suspect on Saturday and, after a reconnaissance operation, arrest him at 9:22 p.m.

Wanted in custody

On Tuesday morning, the man was requested to be detained on probable cause on suspicion of murder and grave breach of peace. It is the higher degree of suspicion.

The 26-year-old was previously convicted of attempted kidnapping of a ten-year-old girl and, judging by the sentence, was close to succeeding.

He had then prepared by purchasing various items which he then used during the kidnapping attempt – which took place in broad daylight in a residential area.
