17-year-old Tiktok star murdered – in her home

Tiktok star Sana Yousaf recently turned 17.

She was shot dead in her home by a man who was obsessed with her, writes CBS News.

Sana Yousaf from Pakistan had 1.1 million followers on TikTok. She posted videos where she mimed to songs, gave skin care tips, and recommended beauty products.

She turned 17 last week. In the last video posted to her account, Sana was seen cutting a cake on her birthday.

Just hours later, she was shot in her home in the capital Islamabad. Sana’s mother told police that a man with a gun in his hand suddenly entered their house on Monday afternoon and “shot straight at my daughter with the intention of killing her.”

Sana was hit by two shots in the chest. She was taken to hospital where she died.

“Cruel and cold-blooded”

Police have arrested a 22-year-old man for the murder. The man had reportedly been trying to contact Sana for months and “befriend” her.

– It was a case of repeated rejections. The boy tried repeatedly to contact her. It was a cruel and cold-blooded murder, says Islamabad Police Chief Syed Ali Nasir Rizvi.

According to the police chief, the man had “done his utmost to contact” Sana on her birthday on May 29.

– He went to her home and tried to meet her for seven to eight hours but failed, says Syed Ali Nasir Rizvi.

The man then entered Sana’s home and murdered her.

“Justice for Sana”

Many have demanded “justice for Sana” on social media.

On Instagram, Pakistani actress and influencer Waliya Najib wrote an emotional tribute: 

“This doesn’t feel real. You were radiant, just 17 years old. I’m so sorry this world didn’t protect you. Rest in peace, honey.”
